Working With Trial Counsel
Carolina Appeal represents clients in the North Carolina appellate courts and the Supreme Court of the United States and seeks to work in collaboration with trial counsel. Carolina Appeal typically serves as counsel of record once a matter has been appealed and manages the case as it moves through the appellate process.. However, Carolina Appeal is also available to work together with trial counsel if trial counsel prefers to remain involved in the case.
Carolina Appeal also provides support for trial counsel who remain counsel of record for their client by drafting briefs, creating the record on appeal, and preparing trial counsel for oral argument.
At the trial level, Carolina Appeal supports trial counsel by researching and drafting pre-trial motions and notices of appeal to ensure that legal issues are properly raised and preserved in the trial court
